Vice President of the Lebanese Forces Party Georges Adwan, MP George Adwan, revealed the details of the decision that was taken to support the candidacy of Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, considering that “gaining this broad spectrum of support for General Joseph Aoun's presidency is very important to us, and we have chosen Aoun because he will work to halt the path of the old phase and open the door to a new one.”
Adwan said in an interview with MTV: The election of General Joseph Aoun must take place with 86 votes, and the process of opening legal discussions is not on the table, and we are in agreement on this matter.
He continued: We cannot guarantee that General Joseph Aoun will secure 86 votes, but what we want and will do is vote for him in every round, and we ask the resistance bloc, "Can they bear standing against the election of the army commander, whom they trust to implement the international resolution?"
