Caretaker Minister of National Defense Maurice Sleem met today with the President of the Retired Armed Forces Association, Major General Nicolas Mezher, accompanied by a delegation from the association, at his office in Yarzeh.
Discussions focused on the army’s critical role during this period, particularly its deployment in southern Lebanon as part of efforts to enforce the ceasefire arrangements and the deployment plan in coordination with the Quintet Committee overseeing the implementation of these measures.
The meeting also addressed the rights of active-duty and retired military personnel, emphasizing the need for fair recognition of their sacrifices and the significant responsibilities they bear.
