Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met with Jean-Christophe Carret, World Bank Director for the Middle East and North Africa, at the Second Presidency in Ain al-Tineh. Discussios reportedly focused on reconstruction projects, debris removal, and rehabilitation of infrastructure, healthcare, education, economic, industrial, agricultural, and public institutions.
Moreover, Carret expressed the World Bank's readiness to collaborate with the Lebanese government to ensure effective and sustainable implementation of these efforts. Speaker Berri welcomed the initiative and emphasized the importance of including land reclamation and accessible loans for farmers, industrialists, and small business owners to enable swift recovery by year-end.
Berri also discussed general developments, legislative issues, and the presidential election with MP Hagop Pakradounian, Secretary-General of the Tashnag Party, and received Bishop Paul Matar.
