Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rahi delivered a powerful Sunday sermon, addressing significant topics that resonate with both Lebanon and the region.
"I thank the French President for inviting me to France to attend the inauguration of Notre Dame Cathedral," the Patriarch said, expressing his gratitude for the invitation and acknowledging the importance of international solidarity in preserving cultural and religious heritage.
He went on to reflect on Syria’s historical and cultural significance, describing it as "the cradle of Christianity, where Christians lived with dedication and contributed to preserving coexistence." Patriarch Rahi stressed the importance of reaching out to all Syrian components for reconstruction and encouraging Christians to engage actively in national political work.
Addressing Lebanon’s political scene, Patriarch Rahi said, "We accompany the parliamentary blocs in Lebanon with prayers as they prepare for the presidential election on January 9, hoping for successive elective rounds to ensure the election of a president."
Through his remarks, the Patriarch underscored the themes of gratitude, unity, and responsibility, offering a message of hope and faith during a challenging time for the region.
