The head of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gebran Bassil, warned that "the rise of ideological or religious factions in Syria will pose a threat to Syrian minorities as well as Christians in Lebanon." He noted that "it is natural for some Lebanese to feel sad over Assad's downfall and to fear the factions in Syria, which reminds us of their occupation of parts of eastern Lebanon, prompting the army to launch the 'Fajr al-Jroud' battle."
Bassil added: "I fear that those celebrating Assad's fall today are dancing on their own graves."
