Caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib held separate meetings with Turkey’s newly appointed chargé d'affaires, Ambassador Murat Lutem, and Qatar’s Ambassador Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss diplomatic and humanitarian efforts amid Lebanon’s challenging circumstances.
During his introductory visit, Ambassador Lutem addressed the latest developments surrounding the ceasefire and potential measures to enhance stability. Discussions also explored the resumption of Turkish Airlines flights to Beirut, with the ambassador expressing optimism for an imminent decision.
In his meeting with the Qatari envoy, Minister Bou Habib received Qatar’s affirmation of support for Lebanon’s reconstruction efforts during this critical period.
Moreover, the Foreign Minister extended gratitude to Qatar for its significant humanitarian contributions, including over 2,240 tons of medical and relief supplies delivered via 20 flights, as well as its funding of specialized medical care for Lebanese children with critical conditions.
The minister also welcomed Qatar Airways’ decision to resume flights to Lebanon starting December 9.
