General Security Director, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, took to social media to address the recent surge in diplomatic activity aimed at stopping Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
"We are witnessing a renewed wave of visits by envoys to Lebanon as part of an initiative to achieve a ceasefire between Lebanon and the Israeli enemy. Hochstein is coming to Lebanon this time, and it is said he is proposing an 'initiative’,” Ibrahim said.
"The media atmosphere in the enemy camp appears positive, with some local media outlets relaying leaks of a potential settlement from Israeli media without any discussion, as if they were given truths,” Ibrahim added.
"This is a repeated cycle, moving from Gaza to Lebanon over the past year. The enemy will not agree to any solution in the foreseeable future and will not hand over this card to a departing administration,” Ibrahim said.
“The essence of the matter lies in attempting to improve the position of the Democratic candidate in the United States. This administration had the capacity to impose a ceasefire in Gaza and then in Lebanon if it had wished to do so over the past year. So why the initiative now? The battlefield alone will determine the ceasefire, and that is the truth,” Ibrahim concluded.
