Caretaker Minister of Economy Amin Salam welcomed Pakistani Ambassador to Lebanon Salman Athar with whom he discussed humanitarian assistance for displaced individuals.
During the meeting, Athar informed Salam that "19 tons of aid, including medical and food supplies as well as general shelter materials, are being sent."
This delivery follows Salam’s outreach to Arab and foreign ambassadors aimed at rallying humanitarian support for those displaced and preparing shelter centers, including schools and buildings, particularly the "Quality Inn" hotel at the Rashid Karami International Exhibition Center in Tripoli.
Minister Salam expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Athar for his "brotherly efforts and Pakistan’s swift response to Lebanon’s needs."
The two officials agreed to maintain ongoing communication to ensure the timely delivery of these aid supplies and to keep lines of contact open around the clock.
