Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri mourned \Hezbollah Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, saying, "Son of Musa al-Sadr...my brother...fighter, leader, martyr Sayyed...for the first time, you broke a promise and left with no appointment...I write to you in your high place, choked with emotion...Thirty-three years together...and no heavy mountains came between us...I write to you in your farewell and words get lost...All words that can be said in your farewell remain insufficient before your stature and turban...All words that can be said in your farewell are lower than your stature that bowed only to God Almighty...All the words that can be said are incapable of describing your devotion to the homeland...the affiliation of honor, the loyalty of pride and glory...To God we belong and to Him we shall return."
Speaker Berri received a flood of condolences today on the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, including former PM Saad Hariri, head of the "Free Patriotic Movement" MP Gebran Bassil, head of the Marada Movement, former MP Sleiman Franjieh, head of the Lebanese Kataeb Party, MP Sami Gemayel, head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, former MP Talal Arslan, and several current and former MPs and cabinet ministers, religious dignitaries and political figures.
