Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi pointed out that 'there are parties that want Lebanon in its larger form to be an empty land for their projects, without a state, law, or Constitution.' He added, 'If it weren't for the sacrifice of the Lebanese Resistance martyrs, Lebanon would not be in its current form. We must take a moment to reflect on our values, as there are groups that want Lebanon to be a piece of land, not a homeland.' He emphasized that there is a significant difference between acknowledging Lebanon and truly believing in it.
During his sermon at the Sunday Mass dedicated for the Lebanese Resistance Martyrs at Our Lady of Elige in Mayfouq, Patriarch Rahi said, 'Lebanese people are facing an invasion worse than occupation, and this situation has weakened their faith in their country. Those who emigrated left due to their lack of belief in Lebanon's future.'
