Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi, emphasized on the importance of national unity and overcoming divisions to strengthen Lebanon during these challenging times.
In a meeting with a delegation from the Maronite League, Rahi praised the league's initiatives and its historical significance in voicing the concerns of the community.
The Patriarch acknowledged the league's role in preparing for the beatification of Patriarch Douaihy and expressed eagerness for its participation in upcoming events, including a ceremony honoring scholar Youssef Al-Sammani.
Rahi thanked the league for its continuous efforts over the past 72 years, stating that the Maronite League is the "good yeast" that has kept the community united. He stressed the need for unity among the community to protect Lebanon, its state, and its people, urging all to avoid conflicts and divisions.
