Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Committee, MP Fadi Alameh, met with Cypriot Ambassador to Lebanon Maria Hadjitheodosiou at the Parliament.
Ambassador Hadjitheodosiou reaffirmed Cyprus's official stance against using its territory as a launchpad for military actions against Lebanon.
Discussions between the pair also covered the security situation in southern Lebanon, the extent of damage due to ongoing hostilities, and Lebanon's commitment to implementing UN Resolution 1701.
The Cypriot ambassador expressed hope for a political settlement to end the current crisis.
The meeting also addressed the issue of displacement, which significantly impacts both Lebanon and Cyprus, with the ambassador expressing full understanding of Lebanon's efforts to find a sustainable solution to this issue.
Both MP Alameh and Ambassador Hadjitheodosiou praised the historical relationship between Lebanon and Cyprus and emphasized their commitment to strengthening this bond.
