Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib reaffirmed Lebanon's commitment to the full implementation of UN Resolution 1701 as the optimal path to achieve the desired stability.
Bou Habib made these remarks during his meeting with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Joanna Wronecka.
Bou Habib also met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Ethan Goldrich, accompanied by US Ambassador Lisa Jones, to discuss the situation in the South and the war in Gaza.
During the meeting, Bou Habib stressed the need to support diplomatic initiatives to restore stability in southern Lebanon and the region.
There was also an emphasis on the importance of ending the presidential vacuum and electing a president for the republic.
