Caretaker Minister of Public Health Firas Abiad, received, at his ministry office on Wednesday, the French Senator for French citizens living abroad, Olivier Cadic, in the presence of the Chairman of the Consular Council for French citizens in Lebanon, Dr. Ghassan Ayoub, and Council member, Dr. Ziad Nassour.
Discussions touched on the challenges facing the health sector at this stage and their implications on the health and hospital services for citizens and residents alike.
The initiatives and projects undertaken by France in Lebanon were also presented.
Cadic affirmed France’s continued support to Lebanon’s health and hospital sector.
For his part, Caretaker Minister Abiad said: "We appreciate the efforts made by France to support the health sector, advance government hospitals, and secure medicines and vaccines (directly or through the European Union), and we look forward to more cooperation and joint work for the benefit of this vital sector."
The meeting also touched on the future projects that the MoPH intends to undertake in cooperation with various French institutions, with the aim of promoting and strengthening the countrys health system in a more effective and sustainable manner in the foreseeable and long-term.
