Deputy Head of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council, Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, on Monday received at the Council's headquarters the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad-Jalal Firouznia, who came on a farewell visit upon the end of his diplomatic mission in the country.
Sheikh Al-Khatib wished Ambassador Firouznia success in his new mission, hailing his role in strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples.
Sheikh Al-Khatib also thanked Iran for its permanent stand by Lebanon and its people, highlighting the need for Iran's continued support for Lebanon at this difficult stage.
On the other hand, Sheikh Al-Khatib received at the Council's headquarters, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Lebanon, Badr bin Mohammed Al Mandhari, who came on a farewell visit upon the end of his diplomatic mission in the country.
The visit had been a chance to discuss "strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples."
Al-Khatib wished the Omani Ambassador success in his new mission, hailing the Sultanate's role in supporting Lebanon and its people.
He also heaped praise on the pioneering role played by the Sultanate of Oman in bolstering Arab and Islamic cooperation and resolving differences through dialogue and consultation between Arab and Muslim leaders.
