Israel has announced the arrival of a shipment of heavy bombs, which were released by the current U.S. administration after being suspended during the Biden administration.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz expressed gratitude towards the Trump administration, stating that the shipment of bombs, which arrived in Israel on Saturday, represents an important addition to the Israeli Air Force and military.
Katz said, "This is an important addition to the Israeli Air Force and military. I thank U.S. President Trump and the U.S. administration for their steadfast support of the State of Israel."
The shipment includes the "MK-84" bomb.
According to information from the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the Israeli military, more than 76,000 tons of military equipment have arrived in Israel via 678 airlifts and 129 maritime shipments. This marks the largest air and sea cargo operation in Israel's history.
MK Bombs
The MK bombs, dating back to the 1960s, have been updated with more advanced versions after Washington modified them into smart munitions by adding GPS technology. The explosives in the "MK-84" bombs weigh approximately half a ton, with a blast radius of up to 365 meters.
