Six people were killed and 31 others were injured in a massive fire that broke out at a famous hotel within the Kartalkaya Ski Resort in Bolu, Turkey.
Bolu Governor Abdülaziz Aydın stated in a statement that the death toll might rise, noting that two of the victims jumped from the hotel's window in a state of panic, one of whom was an employee. He also mentioned that most of the injured were affected by smoke but are in good health.
The fire spread rapidly, causing significant damage to large parts of the hotel located on the summit of the Kor Oğlu Mountains.
Following the report of the fire, firefighting and medical emergency teams from Bolu city and neighboring areas rushed to the scene. Efforts to control the fire, which consumed a large portion of the building, are still ongoing.
It is reported that the hotel sustained severe damage due to the rapid spread of the fire, which led to the destruction of large sections of the building. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fire.
