The United Nations Refugee Agency for Palestinians (UNRWA) has reiterated its warnings that Israel’s ban on the agency, which is due to be implemented later this month, would have “disastrous consequences” for Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
“Millions of Palestinian Refugees depend on UNRWA for vital services, from education to healthcare. These services are their lifeline, and losing them will deepen instability and despair,” the agency wrote on X.
It also quoted its commissioner-general, Philippe Lazzarini, as saying in a recent interview, “Should these [Israeli parliament] bills be implemented, it would have disastrous human consequences.”
