The Israeli army has taken control of the Al-Mantra Dam in the Quneitra countryside within the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
Tanks and soldiers of the Israeli army advanced into the area, establishing military bases at several points and constructing earthen barriers. Movement in and out of the area has been restricted to specific times determined by the Israeli forces.
The Al-Mantra Dam is the main water supplier for Quneitra and its surrounding countryside, extending to Daraa Province. It is one of the largest and most vital water reservoirs in southern Syria.
