The Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kazakhstan has announced the crash of a passenger plane traveling from the Azerbaijani capital Baku to the city of Grozny, near Aktau in western Kazakhstan.
The ministry stated that emergency services are working to extinguish a fire at the crash site.
Videos circulated on social media show the final moments of the plane, swaying in the air before falling and exploding on the ground.
Kazakh authorities confirmed that the aircraft involved in the incident was operated by Azerbaijan Airlines.
Kazakhstan also reported that the plane had 62 people on board, including 5 crew members.
