A report from the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth indicated that "Israel is open to de-escalating tensions with Hezbollah if the latter is willing to negotiate a truce."
The report cites "sources familiar with the discussions within the security cabinet on Monday night," noting that "it is still unclear whether Israel will pursue a full-scale war with Hezbollah following a significant attack on Monday that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Lebanese and substantial damage to the party's infrastructure."
The sources emphasized that "no new decisions were reached during the meeting," adding that "Israel remains receptive to reducing tensions if Hezbollah is open to an agreement."
