The phone conversation between Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the situation in Gaza and the region highlighted “their joint assessment of the need to strengthen humanitarian assistance provided to the civilian population in Gaza and to avoid increasing tensions along the border between Israel and Lebanon."
The Italian PM affirmed her country's forefront efforts to stabilize the region through its participation in the UNIFIL mission.
This was stated in a memorandum by the Italian Council of Ministers.
