MTV is set to welcome Fitness Instructor and Miss Bikini Fitness, Maya Nassar, to its ever-growing family.
Miss Nassar has won several accolades including three trophies at a single event that was held in London this year. She was awarded second place in the Modeling category, third place in the Body Transformation category and was voted as overall Female winner by the audience.
Nassar was born in the United States to a Lebanese father and a Dutch mother. She was enrolled at a boarding school in London and then moved to Lebanon to pursue a college education.
During her years in Lebanon, her diet was mostly made up of junk food and unhealthy meals. She gained a large amount of weight and didn’t work out.
Her overweight physique reduced her self-esteem and confidence to shreds and she had no energy to carry out daily tasks. Her weight also affected her overall health, mainly her immune system, rendering her more prone to illness than most young women her age.
Miss Nassar began her journey towards fitness when she decided to alter her lifestyle to rid herself of the excess weight that had been blocking her emotional and psychological growth.
Miss Nassar will be hosting the workout segment on MTV Alive every Tuesday and Thursday and hopes to inspire every Lebanese woman looking to pursue a healthier lifestyle.
"You cannot push someone up a ladder unless they're willing to climb the steps themselves." Nassar says the decision to change has to come from within each person; it is the only way to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
As for her ultimate tip, Nassar says weightlifting and body building are the best tools out there.
"Many women have the wrong idea and believe that such workouts are meant for men," she said, adding that workouts mustn't be limited to the treadmill.
Weightlifting boosts the metabolism and shapes the body; it is far more than a simple weight loss method, said Nassar.
It is worth noting that Miss Nassar has set up her own application which users can download for free. It has been endorsed by Sports and Youth Minister Abdel Moutaleb Hannawi.
The app "Start Living Right" has been ranked number one several times, outshining international applications with free tips and workouts.
