Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Samir Mokbel condemned on Monday Hezbollah's campaign against the President of the Republic, stressing that the verbal attack did not only offend Sleiman, but the whole nation and the people who welcomed the stances voiced by the head of state.
"Sleiman's positions stem from the spirit of the Lebanese Constitution which was previously agreed upon in national dialogue talks and was known as the Baabda Declaration, which the United Nations, the Arab League and the entire international community were briefed on," Mokbel said in a statement.
Mokbel rejected the 'inappropriate' attack on the President, particularly on the eve of His Excellency's departure to Paris to participate in the meeting of the International Support Group for Lebanon to address the issue of displaced Syrians.
