Makary, Norwegian Ambassador broach Lebanon’s pressing challenges

Caretaker Information Minister Ziad Makary hosted Norwegian Ambassador to Lebanon Hilde Haraldstad, with whom he discussed Lebanon’s challenges and the longstanding friendship between Lebanon and Norway.
Ambassador Haraldstad, visiting Makary for the first time since assuming her role in September, described their conversation as constructive, emphasizing the strong ties between the two countries and the importance of further strengthening them. "Lebanon faces great challenges, and we have a bond of friendship that we must continue to build upon," she stated.
The ambassador highlighted Norway’s commitment to advocating for a Palestinian state and achieving a ceasefire in both Gaza and Lebanon. When asked about her impressions of Beirut, she warmly responded, "Beirut is wonderful."
