Brigadier General Youssef Haddad, representing the Lebanese Army at the Paris conference to support Lebanon, delivered a powerful address emphasizing the urgent need to "put an end to conflicts and hostilities."
Haddad affirmed the Army's commitment to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701, in collaboration with UNIFIL. He also noted that the Lebanese government, along with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, has requested the recruitment of 1,500 soldiers as an initial step to bolster the armed forces in southern Lebanon, aiding in the execution of Resolution 1701.
Haddad further underscored the dual challenges faced by the Lebanese military, stating, "Our focus is on the south, as well as on the internal situation and social cohesion. This is our primary objective, and thus we need support."
