Exclusive MTV website:
Secretary-General of the Lebanese Red Cross George Kettaneh announced that "the calls for blood donations are aimed at refilling the blood supply that has been used and to support hospitals while ensuring a reserve of various blood types." He urged citizens, through MTV, "to donate blood at the different Lebanese Red Cross centers, which are open during daytime hours. Notably, the Spears Street and Tripoli centers operate 24 hours a day, and blood is needed from all types, especially negative types."
Kettaneh also asked that citizens to "check the conditions for blood donation before heading to the centers," confirming that "the Red Cross teams and mechanisms are following safe routes and cover all areas exposed to shelling. The number of personnel is sufficient, and they are trained to handle war injuries, with no shortages in staff, supplies, or medical equipment. Regarding fuel, we have implemented an emergency plan and maintain a reserve in case of disruptions in materials."
In conclusion, Kettaneh addressed citizens by saying, "We are here for you, and our primary goal is to save lives. For any emergencies, please call 140 or the hotline 1760."
