The European country’s minister of development cooperation has accused far-right figures in the Israeli government of calling for denial of humanitarian aid to civilians, including children.
Caroline Gennez stressed in a post on X that this action would constitute “a war crime”. “In this way they sabotage every chance for a peaceful solution and threaten the security of both the Palestinian and Israeli populations,” she said.
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir recently called for cutting off all fuel and aid to the enclave and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said starving children in Gaza would be “justified and moral”.
