Abou Haidar meets Indonesian Trade Minister, hosts Lebanese-Indonesian business meeting

Director General of the Lebanese Ministry of Economy and Trade, Dr. Mohamad Abou Haidar, continued his visit to the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, where he held a meeting with Indonesian Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, in the presence of Lebanese Charge d'Affaires in Indonesia George Abou Zeid.
During the meeting, Abou Haidar stressed on the necessity of enhancing trade relations between the two countries to increase Lebanese exports to Indonesia, which are currently very low. He pointed out that Lebanon is capable of exporting various products, especially agricultural ones such as apples, cherries, grapes, and olive oil, which are goods that Indonesia currently imports from other countries. Abou Haidar also highlighted several accomplishements achieved by industrialists and farmers in recent years through exporting various products to the European Union.
Abou Haidar confirmed the interest of Lebanese traders and industrialists in importing Inonesian products to Lebanon and other Arab countries as well. Later, Abou Haidar and Abou Zeid held a meeting with the Director General of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade and her team to discuss ways to improve trade exchange. Abou Haidar presented Lebanon's commercial needs and its export capabilities, especially following the agreement signed yesterday between the chambers of commerce in Beirut and Jakarta.
The Indonesian Ministry of Trade hosted an inclusive meeting attended by Lebanese and Indonesian businessmen, during which Abou Haidar spoke about his reliance on the future of trade relations between the two countries, calling on Indonesian businessmen to invest in Lebanon. He emphasized that the Israeli aggression on the south has not diminished the determination of the Lebanese people or the initiatives of the private sector, which has been and remains the backbone of the Lebanese economy.
