Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the recognition of the State of Palestine by Ireland, Norway, and Spain, calling it an important step in affirming the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
“This recognition aids in initiating a serious political process toward a just and comprehensive solution based on the two-state solution, relevant international resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative from the 2002 Beirut Summit, aimed at building a better future for Palestinians and all nations involved,” the statement read.
The Ministry praised this historic moment for Palestine and valued these decisions as significant amidst ongoing Israeli violations of human rights and international humanitarian law, and expansionist policies, calling on other nations to recognize the State of Palestine and support its bid for full UN membership, fostering peace and stability in the region.
