Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati renewed Lebanon's commitment to international legitimacy resolutions, and called for "exerting pressure on Israel to withdraw from our occupied land, and stop its violations of land, sea and air, as well as fully implement Resolution 1701, within a comprehensive package with clear and declared international guarantees."
Premier Mikati’s words came in his delivered word at the 33rd Arab summit in Manama, Bahrain.
Mikati also hoped to "activate the work of the Arab Liaison Committee on Syria in a way that helps achieve an agreed-upon common Arab vision, and develop a financing mechanism to secure the necessary resources to facilitate and accelerate the return of displaced Syrians to their country."
The Premier also stressed that "the Lebanese are counting heavily on the effective role of the Arab brethrens, especially the members of the Five-Nation Committee, in order to help the Lebanese political forces achieve the presidential election entitlement."
