Education Minister, Spanish Ambassador inspect Spanish high school in Karantina

Minister of Education, Dr. Abbas Halabi, and the Ambassador of Spain to Lebanon, Jose Maria Ferri, on Tuesday inspected the Public Spanish Secondary School in the Karantina region.
Minister Halabi and the accompanying delegation toured the school, which has been granted as a donation by the Spanish government in the form of a prefabricated building prepared and installed to receive the students of Ashrafieh High School that was hit and destroyed by Beirut port explosion, as well as some students from other public schools that have been afflicted.
In a discussion with students, the Minister confirmed that he would soon issue a final decision with regard to this year's official exams "based on a study conducted by the Educational Center in coordination with public and private schools over the completed curricula and the remaining part of them."
Moreover, the school administration complained about the lack of water and electricity, as well Internet access."
In turn, Minister Halabi duly promised to take swift action, along with donors, to secure the school's needs.
Minister Halabi then thanked the Spanish Ambassador and government "for this beautiful gift, which provides education services at the highest levels."
"This is the best expression of the long-standing cultural, educational, and economic relations between the two countries," he added.
For his part, the Spanish ambassador thanked Halabi his cooperation, stressing his country's will to pursue its support for Lebanon and to "take care of its new generation because its the future of the country."
