Ministry of Agriculture: Swarms of locusts in Lebanon under control

The Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture announced in a statement on Tuesday that the wave of desert locusts that had swept through some of the Lebanese eastern and northeastern borders, and which were estimated at hundreds of thousands, were currently under control thanks to unrelenting efforts to combat them as soon as they entered the Lebanese borders and some regions adjacent to the border.

“It is important for the Ministry of Agriculture to inform citizens and farmers that some limited locust swarms are still being monitored in specific areas in cooperation with the Lebanese army leadership,” the statement added.
