The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers issued the following clarification:
"In response to circulating reports about a government plan to abolish certain public institutions, bodies, and councils, the General Secretariat clarifies that the project in question is merely a draft prepared by the previous government, led by former Prime Minister Najib Mikati. In reality, this proposal has neither been discussed by the current government, headed by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, nor formally presented to it. This clarification was deemed necessary."
