Finance Minister Yassin Jaber welcomed French Ambassador to Lebanon Hervé Magro at his ministry office in a courtesy visit.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the reform measures undertaken by the Finance Ministry and the ongoing cooperation with the French Development Agency (AFD), particularly in the context of preparing Lebanon’s 2026 budget.
According to a statement from the ministry’s media office, Ambassador Magro expressed France’s full support for the Lebanese government and its reform agenda.
The French diplomat affirmed his country’s readiness to provide assistance at both political and technical levels.
Magro also revealed French President Emmanuel Macron’s keen interest in aiding Lebanon, announcing plans to help establish a dedicated fund to support reconstruction efforts.
Moreover, Magro emphasized that France’s commitment comes in response to Lebanon’s declared intention to ensure transparency in implementing reforms.
