MTV website exclusive:
MTV has learned that next week will see a complete halt to teaching in all schools, both in-person and online.
Sources indicate that a circular has been sent from the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools requesting all schools to cease teaching entirely, especially on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, leaving the decision to resume to the discretion of school administrations based on emerging circumstances.
The General Secretariat of Catholic Schools emphasized the need to consider the situation of students and parents, particularly regarding their mental well-being, in light of the ongoing bombings and attacks in various Lebanese areas. They are coordinating in this regard with the Ministry of Education, which has announced a postponement of the start of the school year to October 7.
Additionally, the French Embassy in Lebanon is expected to issue a statement concerning students studying under the French baccalaureate system.
