Caretaker Public Works Minister Ali Hamieh wrote on X: "The work of clearing and cleaning the Ghadir River continues by the contractors of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, as a precaution to prevent any potential overflows caused by the accumulation of waste, debris, and other materials in its course. It’s important to note that ongoingly dumping waste in its path, or even having it swept in by floods from higher areas, will inevitably lead to blockages and flooding outside the riverbed. As a result, the efforts made by the teams working there would go to waste."
