Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met at his Ain El-Tineh residence with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, with whom he discussed the latest political and field developments in Lebanon and the region. The discussion between the pair reportedly focused on Israel's ongoing aggression against Lebanon and Gaza.
Berri also received Norwegian Ambassador to Lebanon Hilde Haraldstad who paid him a protocol visit marking the beginning of her diplomatic mission in Lebanon. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
Separately, Speaker Berri sent a congratulatory cable to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, following his re-election.
In the message, Berri expressed "warm congratulations on the renewed confidence granted by the Algerian people," and emphasized Lebanon's appreciation for Algeria's continued support, especially during difficult times.
Berri also voiced readiness to strengthen cooperation between the two nations, particularly in legislative matters.
