In a post on X, MP Ibrahim Kanaan stated:
"Despite judicial decisions that have proven the 'the fabricated claims of financial transfers' since 2021, the lies and incitement continue to spread falsehoods and distort facts with the intent of tarnishing my image and the truth. This is done due to the lack of evidence or argument by those behind these baseless accusations that have targeted my political, legislative, and party career, which I am proud of. In the coming days, I will address the reasons and circumstances surrounding my resignation from the Free Patriotic Movement, along with the lies that were spread and promoted by a known group, dragging some into marketing them.
Therefore, I will review the situation with the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal steps and uncover the mastermind and tools behind this ongoing character assassination. The individuals responsible for this despicable campaign are now known by name and will be pursued legally."
Kanaan also attached images to his statement, proving the falsity of the claims against him.
