Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with Minister of Youth and Sports Georges Kallas and Acting Director General of Sports Facilities, Dr. Naji Hammoud, at the Grand Serail. Mikati emphasized the urgent need to rehabilitate sports facilities, including Beirut Sports City and Tripoli Stadium, and called for swift engagement with donors.
Mikati also met with MP Hadi Aboul Hosn, who praised Mikati's efforts to safeguard Lebanon amid recent Israeli aggression.
Aboul Hosn emphasized the importance of national unity and criticized ministers boycotting critical government meetings.
In another meeting, MP Camille Chamoun of the National Liberal Party underscored Lebanon's need for solidarity and security to prevent further emigration and to rebuild the nation. Chamoun also warned against the perpetuation of violence, advocating for peace and stability.
Mikati separately received, Elie Mahfoud, head of the Change Movement, who stressed the importance of electing a new president to stabilize state institutions.
Mahfoud highlighted ongoing high-level international efforts to support Lebanon, particularly in strengthening its army and adhering to UN Resolution 1701, which Mikati cited as crucial for Lebanon's peace and stability.
