Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian welcomed Former Lebanese President Michel Sleiman at Dar al-Fatwa.
Sleiman emphasized the urgency of electing a new president amid the current national crises, citing the dire state of institutions and the country's overall distress. He also stressed the need to open Parliament without preconditions and to engage in dialogue to address the nation's interests, including ending the conflict in the south.
In other meetings, Mufti Derian welcomed MP Walid Baarini, Mufti of Akkar, Sheikh Zaid Mohammad Bakkar Zakaria, Lebanese University President Dr. Bassam Badran, and others, discussing regional and educational matters.
