Lebanese Army Statement on Gunfire Incident at the American Embassy

The Lebanese Army Command issued the following statement:

"The American embassy in Lebanon, located in the Awkar area, was subjected to gunfire by an individual of Syrian nationality. Army personnel deployed in the area responded to the sources of fire, resulting in the injury of the shooter who was transferred to a hospital for treatment, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident."
