Mounir Nasraoui - better known as the father of FC Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal - has allegedly been stabbed in the dormitory town of Mataro and was reported by La Vanguardia, citing anonymous sources, to be in serious condition in hospital.
The stabbing allegedly occurred in a car park in Mataro, some 20 miles east of Barcelona city centre, on Wednesday evening as explained by "official sources familiar with the incident" which confirmed the news to the Catalan newspaper.
Nasraoui was transferred to the Can Ruti hospital in Badalona, around six miles from Barcelona and roughly midway between the city and Mataro, and is allegedly in a serious condition.
According to Relevo, however, also citing anonymous sources, Nasraoui "is out of danger" and has been discharged to recover at home.
La Vanguardia explained that the investigation unit of Mataro's Mossos d'Esquadra police department have taken over the case and have already been able to locate several witnesses, but it is still too early to ascertain how the incident occurred.
