A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck Guatemala on Saturday, according to the US Geological Survey, and was felt by residents of El Salvador and Nicaragua, according to Agence France-Presse.
No injuries or damage were reported in the three countries.
The earthquake occurred at 8:53 pm (02:53 GMT) and its epicenter was eight kilometers southeast of the city of Xalapa and at a depth of 265.5 kilometers, according to the American Survey Center.
For its part, the Seismological Institute of El Salvador announced that the magnitude of the earthquake reached 5.9 degrees, while the Nicaraguan Observatory recorded its magnitude at 5.2 degrees.
Civil protection authorities in the three Central American countries did not report any human casualties or damage to infrastructure.
