General Security chief, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, on Wednesday said that his agency had fully completed its task of reviewing the naturalization decree, and that it was up to the political authority to decide on the next step.
"Our task regarding the naturalization decree has been fully completed, and our work yielded effective results," Ibrahim indicated.
"The naturalization decision is up to the political authority to make; we have completed our duty," he added.
Ibrahim made these remarks on the sidelines of the General Security's conference on Israeli cyber crimes, at the agency's Beirut headquarters.
On the Syrian refugee issue, Ibrahim indicated that a batch of 400 displaced would depart to Syria from Arsal.
"We are coordinating with the UNHCR and we have addressed them in a letter so that they assume their responsibility," he said.
The event was attended by representatives of the Army Commander and Internal Security Forces' chief, as well as by National Audio Visual Council head Abdul Hadi Mahfouz, Press Order head Aouni Kaaki, National News Agency Director Laure Sleiman, and a panel of ranking figures.
