Many Lebanese users on social media changed their profile pictures into the rainbow flag representing LGBT movement, expressing solidarity with the historic gay marriage ruling from the US Supreme Court, that even some politicians got bitten by the same bug.
The Internet got a bit more colorful and a lot more talkative, some were supportive while others were opponents and resorted to the language of insults used in the local politics.
However the biggest question remains, after the US, will Lebanon step into legalizing gay marriage?
This question might hold exaggeration within its folds; however the reaction is alike to US citizens' when they were asked the same inquiry few decades ago. The "cause" of homosexuals is clawing its way up in an inevitable way, through forming lobbies across the world, whereby they are succeeding in obtaining most of their rights.
Reconciliation is a must within the Lebanese social classes and the homosexuals themselves, who should rely on civilized means to claim their "rights", so that they do not complain about social injustice when they do so...
