Sources within the ministerial delegation accompanying Prime Minister Tammam Salam to the Arab Summit in Egypt’s Sharm al-Sheikh told al-Mustaqbal newspaper that current developments in Lebanon and the region were the main issues discussed within meetings held on the sidelines of the conference.
The sources also noted that Kuwait’s Prince Subah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Subah stressed during talks with Salam the need to elect a new president for Lebanon.
Salam also held talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the latter reportedly voiced relief over the outcomes of the Israeli elections.
