Days after the Free Patriotic Movement official, Fadi Gemayel, called for a conference to be held in Paris so as to discuss the party’s new by-laws, an abrupt central decision emerged to foil his plans.
Gemayel, who had been chairing a committee tasked with setting out new by-laws for the movement upon FPM leader’s request in 2006, got ousted just before the outcome of his endeavors get to see the light of day.
Parliamentary sources affiliated to the Free Patriotic Movement told al-Akhbar newspaper that Gemayel’s expulsion is not worthwhile, and, therefore, does not deserve much attention. The same sources blamed one of the movement’s high-ranking officials who “constantly conveys erroneous news.”
