MTV has learned that the Port of Tripoli is consistently, especially in recent times, seeing the influx of smuggled goods that are sold in Lebanese markets without invoices.
Sources indicate that traders are paying bribes to bring smuggled goods through the Port of Tripoli, which are then sold in Lebanese markets at low prices. These goods are promoted on social media on this basis, as sellers evade paying customs fees, allowing them to reduce their prices. The smuggled goods include various types of biscuits, coffee, and related products.
