Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdellatif Derian on Thursday urged the completion of the maritime border demarcation process and for serious negotiations that protect the interests of Lebanon and the Lebanese.

He also hoped that "the US mediation will yield a solution that guarantees Lebanon's right to its natural boundaries recognized in the international conventions."

The Mufti's remarks came during his meeting with the Lebanese diaspora in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
